Welcome to CSB Photography and thank you for taking an interest in us!

We are a husband/wife team specializing in the photography of Dancers, musicians, and other live-action performing artists.

CSB Photograph began officially in late 2024 when we decided to merge our lifelong passions into a business that leverages Scott’s love of photography with Lauren’s extensive experience as a professional ballet dancer and decades-long ballet teacher.

Scott’s experience with photography stretches back to the mid-1980s when his grandfather left him a 35mm film camera. Over the intervening decades, he honed his photography skills by incorporating it into his everyday life, whether it be a long hike through the country admiring the beauty and sadness of the remnants of North Carolinas rich agricultural history, or packing his camera along while visiting historic sites in the US and Europe; however, The throughline of his photographic journey was always Lauren, his favorite subject, wife, and ballerina.

Scott’s passion for creating images led him to attend the North Carolina, School of the Arts where he majored in Visual Art in High School, and Scenic Design in college.

Scott continued developing his skill for creating striking images as a Set Designer and Illustrator in the Motion Picture Industry where for over 27 years he applied his skills to such productions as Avatar, Star Trek, Spider-Man, Ender’s Game, Passengers, and Top Gun: Maverick just to name a few.

Originally from North Carolina, Lauren studied ballet and received her high school diploma from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. In addition to that she spent several summers training at places like the Pennsylvania Ballet ( now the Rock School), the Chautauqua Institution, and the Hungarian National Ballet Academy in Budapest, Hungary. She then earned her bachelor’s degree from S.U.N.Y Purchase, with a concentration in ballet.
Lauren has danced professionally with the Granite State Ballet, and Ballet Metropolitano in Caracas, Venezuela. She can also be seen dancing in several television and film productions such as Dawson’s Creek, House M.D., and was the featured dancer in Christina Aguilera’s music video “Fighter.”
Lauren first began teaching at the Wilmington School of Ballet in Wilmington, N.C., where she was also the artistic director of The Young Dancers of Wilmington, a nonprofit children’s ballet company. After Lauren and Scott relocated to Los Angeles, she taught for a number of schools in the area, including the Vergari Dance Center, the Burbank School of Ballet, and the Performing Arts Center of Van Nuys.
While still in Los Angeles she studied with the Pilates Sports Center and became a certified Pilates instructor.

Lauren currently teaches at the North Carolina Dance Institute (NCDI) and also offers private ballet lessons, performance coaching, and audition prep, as well as the work she does with CSB Photography.

Lauren now lives in Raleigh with her husband Scott, and their daughter, Isabelle, who is an aspiring ballerina.
